Thank you again to all. As follow-up to this petition I am going to Ottawa to meet personally with
-MP John Godfrey, Committee Chair for Children at Risk
-Senator Landon Pearson, Advisor to PM Chretien on Children's Issues for the UN Summit on Children in September

These meetings are tentatively scheduled for May 24,2001.

The struggle continues for equal treatment of adults whatever means they choose to take care of those they love- the sick, the young, the handicapped, the elderly, the dying.

We welcome you to look through this website to learn of the issues and to join us if you wish.

This movement is not associated with any political party or any religious organization. It is in fact for the not-taking-of-sides, for equality for all parents because of the equality of all children. This movement is for the state to value taking care of others, regardless of the gender or marital status of the caregiver. This movement is to value caregiving itself- done by daycare workers, nursing aides, home-care workers who are paid but also done by women and men, unpaid, in the home.

The final stage of liberating women is not to free them from the home or kids but to free them from forced roles. It is in equally valuing choices that we are free.
